The Bahamas, stretching over 760 miles and containing over 700 Islands & Cays, offers many beautiful sights and activities. From blue holes to sandbanks, swimming with sharks and pigs, there are so many exciting and life-changing experiences to be had in the Bahamas.
Interacting with tourists daily, I have had hundreds of people tell me that some of these experiences were the “best days of their lives”…their words, not mine! I couldn’t agree more with that statement, and you will forever remember the Bahamas after hitting some of these spots.
So here you go, my list of top 10 things to do in The Bahamas in order from favorite at the top, but they are all some of my favorites. Please note that these are different experiences all over the Bahamas. You can’t simply fly to Nassau and expect to experience all these, so my suggestion is to pick your top 3 and plan your vacation from there. As always, I’m happy to assist with itinerary planning to ensure you hit the best spots most affordably; just drop me an e-mail!

#2: Eleuthera Road Trip, Queen’s Bath, Glass Window Bridge & Sapphire Blue Hole
Grab a car and explore these amazing spots! All within a few minutes of each other, this will be a great day filled with some fantastic views and activities!
The Bahamas’ Sapphire Blue Hole
Located just past Preachers Cave in North Eleuthera, this is quite possibly one of the best attractions in all the Bahamas. The electric blue colors are amazing, and a must-see when in Eleuthera. Grab your snorkels, jump off the cliffs into the blue hole, and explore the beauty of the naturally made sinkhole in the middle of the forest!
Eleuthera’s Glass Window Bridge
The narrowest point of the Island, at only 30 feet wide, this bridge connects the northern part of Eleuthera to the Central and is a must-see! This is one of the most beautiful parts of the Island, and one of the only places in the world where you can see the deep blues of the Atlantic Ocean, and the light and bright turquoise colors of the shallow Caribbean Sea! Quickly stop by for a great photo opp and a breathtaking view!
The Bahamas’ Queens Bath
Just south of the Glass Window Bridge is the Queen’s Bath, which is basically a bunch of tide pools & naturally made hot tubs! These little crevasses are filled with creatures and are just waiting for you to take a dip! Explore the caves and relax in these naturally made earth tubs! Make sure to bring some sturdy shoes, it’s a little tough to walk down there. The Queen’s Bath is best enjoyed when the tide is not too high!
#3: Go to Coco Plum Beach in Georgetown, Exuma
Those swings you see with Instagram models and beautiful turquoise water, yes, those are here, and yes, they are as impressive if not more than they look in photos.
Located in Georgetown, Exuma, this beach will most likely be empty, and on a calm day, you will feel so serene and happy on this beautiful beach.
My suggestion is to rent a car, pack a cooler, something to eat, and park yourself on that beach all day; you won’t be disappointed!
#4: Take an Excursion to Rose Island & Swim With the Turtles
Rose Island, located just a few miles off of Nassau, is a stunning little gem, filled with untouched beaches, beautiful turquoise waters, and some adorable turtles that you can swim with!

#5: Explore the underwater Statues at Clifton Pier in Nassau, Bahamas
This is one of the coolest excursions and best kept secrets in Nassau. Most people don’t know that these unique sculptures even exist. “Ocean Atlas” was built to help endangered sea life and has been used to educate many future marine biologists. In addition to its educational value, “Ocean Atlas” is a beautiful place to snorkel and catch some very Instagram-worthy photos!
Contact Float Your Boat Bahamas today to book a rout to Clifton Pier’s underwater statues!
#6: Spend the Day in Harbour Island, Eleuthera
Harbour Island is one of the most asked about places in the Bahamas! It’s most known for its beautiful pink sand beaches, colorful original style cottages, cruising around in golf carts, and horseback riding through the turquoise waters. Harbour Island is all of this, plus much more! If you are a food lover, this is DEFINITELY where you want to be. Believe when I say that every meal I have eaten in Harbour Island has been delicious!
Check out the Float Your Boat Bahamas Harbour Island Guide for more info!
#7: Enjoy a Daiquiri & Local Vibes at The Daq Shack in Nassau, Bahamas
This is a simple must-do activity! The Daq Shack is located by the Melia Hotel, in colorful shacks by the Cable Beach Straw Market. Stop in for a fantastic daiquiri; my favorite is the Pina Colada, and some great vibes! This is a local scene mixed with some tourists from the hotels. A great spot to have a local fun experience without breaking the bank!
The best time to go is around 4-5 pm, it will be kind of busy with the post-work crew, and the music will be bumpin! (TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO COVID)
#8: Explore Lighthouse Beach in Eleuthera, Bahamas
Located at the most southern tip of Eleuthera, this is probably the most magnificent beaches I have ever seen! The sand is soft and pink, and you can frolic in both the Atlantic & Caribbean Sea! Explore the caves, snorkel in the beautiful water, climb up to the historic lighthouse, and be mind blown at its natural beauty!
#9: Spend the Day at Dean’s Blue Hole in Long Island, Bahamas
Deans Blue Hole is one of the most famous blue holes in the world! It’s approximately 663 feet deep, filled with mystery and endless photo ops! Jump from the cliff or swim right in and enjoy this fantastic experience.
#10: Hire a Spearfishing Guide to Take you Spearfishing - Anywhere in The Bahamas!
Spearfishing is a unique and cool experience; you get to immerse yourself into a different universe, the underwater universe :). You can catch your dinner and have a fishing adventure much different than throwing a line in.
