Knowing where to eat is key for a successful vacation. Not only do we wish to relax and explore new places, but we must also have great meals, satiate our tastebuds, and have great dining experiences.
Eleuthera is very much an “Out Island” experience. Things will be closed sometimes, the unexpected should almost always be expected because you never know! With that being said, it’s great to have options for the best restaurants in Eleuthera, we’ve done the research so you don’t have to!
Just a friendly reminder that when visiting Eleuthera you are very much off the grid, many of these places don’t have websites, it’s always best to call beforehand and make sure they are open!

This will be your fanciest breakfast dining experience. 1648 is a beautiful restaurant located in the French Leave hotel. The balcony overlooks beautiful Governor’s Harbour, where you can enjoy an island twist on traditional breakfasts such as pineapple pancakes, guava duff oats, or lobster eggs benedict. Plenty of great unique delicious options at 1648!

Sammy’s in Rock Sound
If you’ve never had the Bahamian breakfast staple, stew fish or stew conch, I highly suggest Sammy’s be your first experience. I believe this is the best stew conch I have ever had! Whipped up with potato’s, some spice, lime, and tender conch or fish, this is the hangover cure and a tastebud explosion all in one! You can’t miss out on this delicious option, make sure to call ahead for take-out, or dine in for an authentic Bahamian breakfast!
Local Food & Casual Dining in Eleuthera
Buccaneer Club in Governors Harbour
I can confidently say that everything I have had here has been great. Buccaneers is a local and tourist favorite, they are serving Bahamian/Chinese fusion and it is delicious. They are one of the only restaurants that are open the whole day and they will not disappoint! My go-to is the fish burger, the fried chicken, and the mac and cheese, YUM!!!
Queen of Tarts in Savanna Sound
This is a delicious quick pick-up spot for a Bahamian snack! Cracked conch, fried wings, or a burger would all be a great choice! Call your order in, and confirm they have what you want available, as she sells out. Pick it up and let your tastebuds be satisfied!
Leo Rose in James Cistern
This is a great spot right on the water, you can hang out, take a dip, enjoy a drink, and have a delicious meal with a view! I personally love their cracked conch, I think they make it perfectly!

Neek’s Eats & Treats in Tarpum Bay
Another diamond in the ruff, Neeks is the best take-out spot if you’re in the Tarpum Bay area. I can confirm that Neeks has the best wings I have ever had, and definitely some of the top french fries! If you are a wings and fries person, I highly suggest this be on your to-do list when visiting Eleuthera. They have a full Bahamian menu with many options to choose from. Everything is cooked to order so I suggest calling in an hour or so in advance.

Upscale Dining in Eleuthera
La Bougainvillea in Palmetto Point
This is one of my favorite spots to dine at in Eleuthera. Great food, views, service, and vibes at La Bougainvillea! La Bougainvillea is a small boutique hotel, their restaurant is situated right on the beach, serving up mostly farm-to-table cuisine and sourcing as much local food as possible. Everything is made fresh to order and I love everything on the menu. They are constantly changing the menu based on seasonal options, no matter what you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Thursday nights are pizza nights, and occasionally they will do other fun cuisine nights. Call in and get more info, but this should definitely be on your Eleuthera food bucket list!
Tippy’s in Governors Harbour
A tourist favorite, Tippy’s is a beach bar serving up an array of meal options. From grilled fish to pizza and burgers, there are endless choices for you when dining at Tippy’s. This is a well-known spot in Eleuthera, I personally think the food is okay, but the view and the vibe are what really make it special and a must-see.

The Otherside in Upper Bouge (lunch only & reservation required)
The Otherside is a special place, it is truly a unique hotel, and I highly recommend stopping by for lunch if they’ll have you 😉 If you are not staying at their hotel, you can only dine in for lunch, and a reservation will be required. This is a family-style restaurant, owned and operated by a very tight-knit community. The food is always delicious, and you will not be disappointed in this experience!
Harbour Pointe in Cape Eleuthera Marina- South Eleuthera
A marina restaurant, located in Cape Eleuthera and is serving up delicious Bahamian food! We did not have one bad thing while dining here. The cracked conch in particular was my favorite, but honestly, everything was great! Enjoy your meal while watching the boats come in and out, this is a must-try if you’re in South Eleuthera!
